Actor Kamal Haasan escalated his fight with the current dispensation on Tuesday after he congratulated the Perambalur unit of his fan club for 'exposing' that rotten eggs were being supplied to government day care homes.
According to reports, the actor’s fans claimed that rotten eggs were found at an elementary school run by the Government in Muthunagar and took to social media to call it out.
The Perambalur district administration, however, reportedly denied the allegations. The collector who visited the school, told the media that the noon meal organisers would usually replace any rotten eggs. He claimed photos taken by Kamal fans were of rotten eggs that were yet to be replaced.
Kamal Haasan has been constantly criticising the government over the last month. His tirade began with him declaring that all government departments are corrupt. This was followed by an appeal to fans to provide proof of corruption to the state's ministers, who asked the actor to back up his claim with facts.
