A Public Interest Litigation has been filed with the Delhi High Court for the registration of an FIR on allegations contained in former Arunachal Pradesh CM Kalikho Pul’s suicide note, as Live Law reported.

It was filed by the National Lawyers’ Campaign For Judicial Transparency And Reforms and 10 others, stating that the people named in the note are high profile, holding office and power, and concerned with national affairs.

Even if they are clean in their character, shining like a real diamond in the public duties they discharge, there is a need to conduct the investigation and allay the shadow and doubts from the public minds, which are created out of the said suicide note. Or, otherwise, the law needs to take its own course.

The petitioners said they were disturbed to see that the even though the issue has been in public for over two weeks , no demand has been made to begin investigation into the note’s claims.

Pul committed suicide on 9 August 2016 after briefly serving as the CM of Arunachal from February till July. His body was found hanging at the official Itanagar residence, along with a 60-page suicide note.
