Scribe Shot While Driving in Delhi, Cops Suspect Family Dispute

A journalist was shot at while she was driving in her car in east Delhi's Vasundhara Enclave, at 12:30 am on Sunday, 23 June, reported ANI. A few masked men had fired multiple shots as per police reports.
Journalist Mitali Chandola, who lives in Noida, was driving a Hyundai i20 car when a Maruti Swift suddenly overtook her, reported NDTV.
“Two masked assailants first threw eggs at the front glass of my car and when I did not stop, they fired two shots at me,” Chandola said, quoted by ANI. The bullets had pierced through the front windshield and one of them hit her hand.
The incident took place near Dharamshila Narayana Super Speciality Hospital at 12:30am, last night.
Jasmeet Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), said that it appears to be a case of a family dispute. Chandola had said that she was not on good terms with her family, according to the police, reported NDTV.
“She has received bullet injuries in the arm and is out of danger,” he said, as reported by the media channel.
The police is probing the involvement of her husband and is looking for CCTV footage, if available, to establish the sequence of events.
Chandola is currently out of danger and is undergoing treatment at Dharamshila Hospital in east Delhi.
