JNU Students’ Union Elections to be Held on 9 September

JNU Students’ Union Elections to be held on September 9th, exactly seven months after the Afzal Guru “controversy.”

• JNU Elections will be held on 9 September this year, exactly seven months after the ‘Afzal Guru’ controversy that embroiled three students, Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid, and Anirban Bhattacharya in a sedition case.
  
  
• The JNUSU elections will attract countrywide interest. The campus is abuzz with slogans such as: ‘They Say #ShutDownJNU! We Say #FightBackJNU!’, another states, ‘Come…Join Hands With Us To Rebuild The Nation!’
  
  
• Their organisations may not be contesting but that has not kept Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid, and Anirban Bhattacharya from campaigning against the ABVP.
