Sharma then said Jamai attacked him when he asked the latter to stop sloganeering against the country. Sharma also alleged he tried to flee the spot when Sharma and his men chased Jamai and thrashed him.
Former Professor of Delhi University, SAR Geelani, has been sent to two-day police custody by the Patiala House Court.
He was taken to the court from Parliament Street police station today. The police had sought two day custody of the professor.
Geelani was arrested for his alleged part in the event in which anti-national slogans were raised.

Journalists marched from the Press Club to the Supreme Court. When the police stopped them from entering SC, a delegation of journalists approached Home Minister Rajnath Singh to bring the incident of lawyers assaulting journalists outside the Patiala House Court on Monday, 15 February to his notice.
Singh called the incident of attack on women journalists an “unfortunate incident”. The women brought to his attention that the incident was not a minor one.
