After Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Professor Atul Johri was accused of sexual misconduct, another case of a JNU Professor harassing female students has come to light.
A student of JNU’s Centre for South Asian Studies has filed a complaint with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) against a professor of the same faculty in the University’s International School.
The complaint, dated 8 January 2018, accused the professor of harassing female students mentally as well as physically. The student said that the said professor has been harassing her since he became the girl’s supervisor.
Calling the professor from the Centre for South Asian Studies a ‘serial offender’, the girl said that he has always had this method of putting the girls in a vulnerable position by deliberately sabotaging their academics and blocking their progress.
The girl further narrated an instance of the same happening with her Chinese friend.
The girl even tried to change her supervisor after the incident, but no solid action was taken due to the faulty administration.
The complainant said that she was not the only one to have witnessed such harassment.
She further said that although it has been months since she registered her complaint, there has not been any solid action against the professor.
