Jessica Lall's younger sister Sabrina Lall passed away on Sunday, 15 August, after being unwell for a prolonged period. Her last rites will be performed on Monday.
Lall was in her early fifties and was suffering from cirrhosis of the liver, news agency PTI reported.
Lall passed away of multiple-organ failure stemming from the complications of cirrhosis.
Jessica Lall was shot dead on 30 April 1999 at a bar in Delhi after she refused to serve liquor to Manu Sharma, also known as Siddharth Vashisht, the son of an MP. The case of her murder had caused great uproar across the country.
It was Sabrina who had then fought tooth and nail to get justice for her sister and see Sharma behind bars. The film No One Killed Jessica was made on Lall's fight for getting justice for her sister.
In an interview with PTI in 2020, Sabrina had expressed her plans to set up a foundation in memory of her sister to help other women in similar situations get justice.
