Internet Services Suspended in Tahab After Two Militants Killed

Two suspected militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama district of Kashmir on 30 July, police said. Internet services have been suspended in Tahab area of Pulwama where the encounter took place.

Two terrorists have been eliminated in Pulwama. The situation is under control. Initial reports indicate that they are from Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Tahab area of Pulwama district the night before, following information about presence of militants in the area, a police official said.

He said a gunfight broke out between the two sides early on 30 July, in which two ultras were killed.

The identity and group affiliation of the slain militants was not known immediately as the search operation was still in progress, the official said.
