Another major accident took place 28 kilometres from Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, 21 August, when a vehicle carrying yatris to Machail Mata, rolled down into the Chenab river, killing 13 people on the spot, Angrez Singh Rana, Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner told ANI.
A five-year-old had earlier been taken to a hospital in Kishtwar for treatment and then to Jammu. However, she passed away in Jammu, Rana added.
Earlier in the day, the dead bodies of 11 people had been recovered by the police, according to Jammu and Kashmir DGP SP Vaid.
This is the second accident in Kishtwar in two days. On Monday, 20 August, five people were killed and nine others injured when a landslide occurred on a hilly road through which the passengers were travelling, PTI reported.
