Ivanka Trump, the Advisor and daughter of US President Donald Trump, arrived in Hyderabad early on Tuesday, 28 November, to participate in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
Ivanka will be leading a delegation of senior Trump administration officials and entrepreneurs at the three-day summit.
The world’s largest gathering of young entrepreneurs is being co-hosted by India and the United States.
It is “a testament to the strong friendship between our two people and the growing economic and security partnership between our two nations,” Ivanka Trump had told reporters during a preview of her India visit.
To be inaugurated by Modi, more than 1,200 young entrepreneurs, a majority of whom are women, from 127 countries would attend the summit.
The summit would also be the first major engagement of the new American Ambassador to India, Ken Juster.

A US-based Malayali entrepreneur will be part of the delegation accompanying US President Donald Trump's daughter and adviser Ivanka Trump to the three-day Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Kochi-born Naresh Menon, the CEO of a California-based startup, ChromoLogic, is part of the 50-member delegation from the US. Menon will represent the healthcare sector at the meet, as The Times of India reported.
While full of admiration for the first daughter, Menon admits he has not met her before.
Ahead of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, schools in Hyderabad will remain shut due to the VIP movement, according to media reports.
At the 400-year-old Laad Bazaar in Hyderabad, special bangles have been made to welcome Ivanka to the country.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Rs 15,000-crore Hyderabad Metro on Tuesday, 28 November, along with the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
Ahead of Ivanka Trump’s arrival, 1,500 traffic personnel and 10,000 security personnel, including elite forces, have been deployed in Hyderabad, according to media reports.
Apart from the same, the US Secret Service is also accompanying Ivanka for her personal security.

Trump then went on to commend India on being the world’s largest democracy, going on to state that the people of the country are “achieving something something truly extraordinary”.
Invoking the theme of the summit ‘Women First, Prosperity for All’, Ivanka Trump congratulated all the women entrepreneurs at the summit for their contribution to the economy.
Stressing on the struggles faced by women entrepreneurs in starting, owning, and growing their businesses, Trump said that the US administration was striving to overcome these obstacles through various initiatives.
She mentioned the SCORE initiative of the US administration, which seeks to foster mentorship where successful men and women coach those who want to become their own CEOs.
Highlighting the US budget’s inclusion of a proposal to establish a nationwide programme for paid family leave, Trump said:
Taking stage after Ivanka Trump’s keynote address, PM Narendra Modi addressed the summit, hailing women entrepreneurship in India.
The PM elaborated on the various initiatives taken by the government in contributing to the Ease of Doing Business index.
Modi spoke about the Aadhaar scheme that seeks to bring several programmes under one identity, calling it the ‘world’s largest digital database.’ He also introduced the ‘Atal innovation Scheme’ which will set up Tinkering labs in over 900 schools to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among children.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj addressed the GES 2017, lauding the relations between US and India.
Speaking on the theme of the summit, she praised women entrepreneurs for being the ‘epitome of courage and leadership’.
Following their stint at the GES, Ivanka will be hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Falaknuma Palace for an extravagant dinner.
She would be treated to Hyderabadi specialties like dahi ke kebab, gosht shikampuri kebab, kubani ke malai kofta, murg pista ka salan and sitaphal kulfi, according to reports.
