A WhatsApp audio clip containing messages urging communal crimes against Hindus, emerged on 14 November, The News Minute reported.
The recording that appeared on a WhatsApp group called ‘Light of Kerala’ was made by Abdul Rashid, an engineering graduate who is believed to have recruited 21 Keralites into terrorist group ISIS.
The two-minute-long audio clip is one of the 50 audio messages, all of which calls for destruction of other religions and democracy barring Islam. In the message, Rashid asks for jihad to be waged against India.
According to the TNM, the message further says:
It urged its audience to “kill kafirs…poison their food and poison all their water” and plan attacks in festivals like Thrissur Pooram or Kumbh Mela. Rashid also praised the 2017 Las Vegas shooting which left 58 people dead, terming the concert venue as the “the palace of satan.” It also urges the target audience to derail trains and use knifes in the name of Islam.
He also cautions his audience about fake jihad groups in the message.
Rashid, 30, left a private sector job in Kerala before leaving the country in 2016. He is believed to be residing in Afghanistan with his wife Ayesha — a Christian before marriage and a child. Among his 21 ISIS recruits in Afghanistan, four are believed to have been killed.
Earlier, an investigation carried out by National Investigation revealed that Rashid had created two such WhatsApp groups to propagate his inflammatory messages.
