After winning a paltry 90 votes in the Manipur assembly elections, Irom Sharmila has vowed to never enter politics again. Sharmila fought from CM Okram Ibobi Singh’s Thoubal constituency, representing her fledgling party – The People’s Resurgence and Justice Alliance (PRJA)

Though her party had the support of the AAP, the ‘Iron Lady’ failed to convince her electorate, and a large section of the people who supported her.

Sharmila told Hindustan Times

I am not ashamed of my defeat, but I am fed up of elections and won’t contest again in the future.
