Contrary to his earlier claims, Dawood's brother Iqbal Kaskar has admitted before Thane police interrogators that Dawood has called him four times in the past few years. These calls were made mainly during the year 2011, when an attack was attempted on Kaskar by a rival gang. Dawood then had allegedly told him to take care and not drink too much.
Earlier, Kaskar had claimed that he hasn't been in touch with his fugitive, underworld don brother Dawood Ibrahim since 2003. But he has now revealed that his family did meet Dawood's wife Mehjabeen Shaikh in Dubai sometime in 2016. Kaskar, who was arrested by the Thane police in an extortion case, said the families spent the day together in Dubai.

A 1930 book of poems by English writer Robert Graves is among 500 tomes that have been damaged by water leaks at the iconic Asiatic Society library. The problem was triggered by the downpour on September 19.
Leaks were also reported after the deluge on August 29 and the society's management had asked the Public Works Department (PWD) to carry out immediate repairs.
Patchwork was undertaken, but it failed to protect many of the library's rare books when it rained heavily again earlier this week.

The Malad sisters at the centre of the Shifu Sunkriti cult drama, whose parents had told the high court that the girls were brainwashed, drugged and raped by its founder, have now turned around and accused their parents of physically assaulting, abusing and torturing them for years.
In a letter to DCP (Detection) Dilip Sawant on September 14, the sisters, aged 24 and 22, have asked for protection from their parents while refuting all allegations of being assaulted, drugged or raped by Shifu Sunkriti founder, Sunil Kulkarni. They have, however, said they want nothing to do with Kulkarni anymore after finding out he is an odious man.
