Interpol Issues Red Corner Notice Against Masood Azhar, Abdul Rauf

  • Interpol on Tuesday issued red corner notices against Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) chief Maulana Masood Azhar and his brother Abdul Rauf. The international organisation is also in the process of issuing notices against Kashim Jaan and Shahid Latif – both handlers for the JeM, reports ANI.

  • Shahid Latif was released from Indian jails after an 11-year sentence as a gesture of goodwill by the UPA government in 2010.

  • NIA had sought these notices are in connection with the attack on the Pathankot airbase in which seven security personnel were killed. Four terrorists died in the encounter which lasted for nearly 80 hours.
