Indrani Mukerjea, the key accused in the murder of her daughter Sheena Bora, was given one day’s bail to perform her father's ‘shraadh’ rituals in Mumbai on 27 December.
Indrani’s father Upendra Kumar Bora passed away on 15 December. Her estranged son Mikhail Bora said he did not permit her to attend the 'adya-shraadh’ rituals in Guwahati – which he performed in the presence of two priests and a couple of reporters.
Mikhail said Indrani had not visited her parents since 2014. "Why should I let her come now?" he said.
He said he had informed Indrani of when his grandfather passed away, but when she expressed the desire to fly to Guwahati, he told the CBI that he wouldn't allow it.
On 22 December, during the hearing on Mukerjea's bail plea to visit Guawahti, the CBI had produced in court the email form Mikhail that opposed her request.
The special court ordered that she would be taken out of jail in the morning under police protection and be escorted back by 7pm.
