Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut was critical of the Centre’s decision to invite a Joint Investigation Team from Pakistan to investigate the attacks at the Pathankot air base. He said it was a mistake to have invited a Pakistani team and that we were “paying the price for our own actions.”

Raut said that because of the ‘war’ between the two nations, it was in Pakistan’s interest to blame India for the attacks. He went on to say that Hafiz Saeed has, on record, taken responsibility for the attack and had issued a statement on behalf of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, saying as much.

Pakistan media has suggested that the Pathankot attacks were staged by India to make Islamabad look bad.
