A woman in her 20s has alleged she was raped by a cab driver in Mandir Marg area Friday night. An FIR has been registered and police are looking for the accused. According to the police, the incident came to light after they received information on Sunday from Hospital.
“The woman, in her complaint, has alleged she was raped by an unknown man two days ago. A medical examination of the woman has been conducted,” said Additional PRO of Delhi Police. “During the initial investigation, we found a few inconsistencies… We are verifying all claims and investigating the matter.”

A 30-year-old man in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district was beaten to death after he reportedly stole a motorcycle, police said, adding that four people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
According to the police, the incident took place late on Friday night near Raneela village in Sawai Madhopur’s Bamanwas area.
“Preliminary investigation suggests that two men entered the village riding a motorcycle and later stole another motorcycle owned by villager Jeetram Meena. Late on Friday night, the local police got information that a thief has been caught. Upon reaching the spot, officials found the body of Khushiram Meena (30),” said Manish Tripathi, Additional Superintendent of Police, Sawai Madhopur.

A man was booked for allegedly pronouncing ‘talaq’ thrice to his wife over phone after she gave birth to twin girls, the police said on Sunday.
The police have swung into action and a case has been lodged under the newly enacted Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, a first such case in Bihar under the new law that provisions up to three years of imprisonment for pronouncing triple talaq through any kind of medium. The new law got Presidential assent on August 1.

A 30-year old woman tattoo artist was found murdered in her home at Anna Nagar on Sunday night and police have arrested two men and who they suspect killed her after a dispute over money for sex.
The man she had been living with after leaving her husband and two children six months ago has also been detained.

A Delhi court has convicted a couple on allegations that they kidnapped their biological daughter when she was five years old from her adoptive parents. The girl told the court that she was beaten up by her adoptive parents and not provided food or education.
Metropolitan Magistrate Balwinder Singh, in his judgment, convicted her biological parents under sections of kidnapping and common intention of the IPC and observed, “Even if it is presumed that the contentions levelled by the accused persons that (their) daughter was ill-treated by the complainant (the girl’s adoptive father) are true, then also accused persons were expected to follow due course of law to take action against the complainant… and to get back custody of their daughter legally.”

A government school teacher was found hacked to death at his house in Kothe Sherjung village in Jagraon on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Jasvir Singh, 45. According to the police, the neighbours heard the cries of Jasvir’s son Arman in the morning. When the neighbours entered the house, they found Jasvir’s body lying in a pool of blood while his wife Daljit Kaur was found in an unconscious state.

When his sister's engagement broke off due to their financial condition, an 18-year-old planned a sensational kidnapping bid with his mother and sister.
The family decided to target their neighbour, who runs an automobile business, and kidnapped his three-year-old son in Bawana. DCP (outer-north) Gaurav Sharma said that the child's father reported that his son was missing on Sunday afternoon around 1 pm.

A 25-year-old man was killed after an unidentified vehicle allegedly hit him while he was crossing a road in Hari Nagar in Sector 10A on Sunday early morning. Last month, a total of at least 21 people died in hit-and-run cases in the city, police records show.
According to the police, Karam Singh, the victim, was a resident of Naharpur village in Mansesar. He worked at a private company in the city. The incident took place on Sunday at around 1am, when Singh was walking towards his home.

Two days after a man succumbed to injuries, after he and his friends were allegedly attacked with an axe and steel rods by a group of at least five people in village Telpuri, Pataudi, the police, on Monday, arrested one suspect in the case.
Jagdhir alias Bholi, who had nine criminal cases against him and was declared a bad character (a person with a history of criminal cases against him) at the Pataudi police station, died on Saturday night after he was allegedly beaten up over personal enmity.
