The principle and owner of a private school along with a clerk of the institution have been arrested by Patna Police for repeatedly raping a minor girl for over one month. Police said on Thursday that they filmed the act as well and were blackmailing her.
The rape survivor, a 12-year-old girl, is three weeks pregnant.
A case has been lodged with Phulwarisharif Police Station under POCSO Act and further investigation is underway.

Two residents of eastern Assam’s Golaghat town have lodged a case against the authors and publisher of a Class 12 textbook for allegedly criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his “silence” during the 2002 Gujarat riots. Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat when communal violence broke out after the Sabarmati Express was set on fire killing 57 people near the Godhra railway station.
Golaghat district’s Superintendent of Police Manabendra Dev Ray said on Thursday that an FIR was lodged at the local police station on 16 September against three authors of the Assamese textbook for Political Science and its publisher Assam Book Depot.

A 19-year-old youth was killed during a clash between police and students at a school in north Bengal during a protest over the appointment of teachers. Ten others were injured in the incident that occurred at Daribhit High School near Islampur. The victim was identified as Rajesh Sarkar, a former student of the school, who was studying at a local polytechnic college. The police has denied using live ammunition, saying it had only used rubber bullets and tear gas shells.
DIG Jayanta Pal said, “We have received a report that one person died due to bullet injuries. The police did not fire bullets. However, we will find out what happened.”

A 25-year-old man was apprehended at a Delhi Metro station on Thursday, 20 September, for allegedly carrying a country-made pistol and a bullet round in his bag, officials said.
CISF personnel apprehended Govinda, resident of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, at the Saket station in the noon after the X-ray baggage scanner detected a pistol-like object in his bag, they said.
A live bullet was also recovered from the bag apart from the country-made pistol, they added.

An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) has been booked for allegedly raping a woman and molesting her minor daughter in Delhi. “A case of rape and POCSO Act was registered against Ramesh Dahiya on Wednesday and the investigation is transferred to the Crime Branch,” said a police officer.
According to police, a complaint regarding the incident was received last month in which the woman had alleged that she came in contact with Dahiya when he was posted as Station House Officer (SHO). Dahiya was recently elevated to the ACP rank.
The woman, who lives with her three children, had met a senior officer on Monday and again lodged a complaint. She also alleged that Dahiya had molested her minor daughter when she was not at home. The police said they were further investigating the case.

A 26-year-old man was arrested by Kurla Railway Police Wednesday for allegedly molesting a 22-year-old woman from Manipur who was travelling in a local train.
The railway police said the accused has been identified as a resident of Mankhurd. “The victim is a student and was taking a train from Vashi to Govandi on 11 September when the incident took place. The accused allegedly touched the woman inappropriately multiple times and despite the woman confronting him and taking a picture of him, he did not stop and later got off the train,” said an officer. The woman lodged a complaint and with help of a picture that she had clicked, the police started investigating the matter.

The Indore district court has sentenced a 38-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping his minor daughter.
The 14-year-old girl, a Class 8 student, got pregnant after being repeatedly raped by her father and had to drop out of school.
Additional Sessions Judge Varsha Sharma convicted the accused (identity not disclosed) on Wednesday for rape under section 376 (rape) of the IPC and also under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The accused shall stay in jail till death, the court said.

A 23-year-old homosexual man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his male partner, the Pune city police said on Thursday, 20 September.
A case of attempt to murder under section 307 of the IPC has been registered against the accused, said a police official of Khadak police station.
The incident happened on Wednesday morning at the 46-year-old complainant's residence, said the official.
"Both men were in relationship for the last couple of years. On Tuesday night, the accused visited the complainant and they had sex. When the complainant again wanted to have sex in the morning, the accused refused, which led to a fight," the officer said.

Angry over the delay in serving the food, a youth killed his mother with a cricket bat and injured his sister, police said on Thursday, 20 September.
The incident occurred in Nandinagar in Banjara Hills on Monday but came to light on Thursday after N Sakkubai (55) succumbed to her injures in a hospital.
According to the police, N Gopi returned home late on Monday night in an inebriated condition. After serving him the food, Sakkubai, who works as a domestic help, went asleep. He tried to wake her up for more rice. His sister Rani served him the rice. When he wanted rice for the third time, Rani asked him to go to kitchen and take it.
