1. Seven Bikers, Arrested for Chasing Kolkata Model, Granted Bail

All the seven persons arrested by Kolkata Police for allegedly harassing a model while she was returning home with a colleague in an Uber cab was granted bail by a local court Friday.

The seven accused were sent to police custody after the model-turned-actor alleged that she was harassed and her Uber driver was manhandled by the gang of bikers earlier this week. The victim, who had posted her ordeal on Facebook, also alleged that police had initially refused to accept her complaint citing a jurisdiction issue.

2. Class 10 Girl Found Dead in Washroom of Kolkata School

A class 10 student of GD Birla Centre For Education in south Kolkata was found dead inside the school washroom under mysterious circumstances on Friday afternoon. Police said she was found with her wrist slit and head wrapped in a plastic bag.

According to the police, a group of students found her lying inside the washroom around 2 pm after which she was taken to a hospital in Jodhpur Park where she was declared dead on arrival.

3. DRI Arrests 4 Men with Forex Worth Rs 1.27 Crore at Delhi Airport

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested four men at the Delhi international airport for allegedly trying to smuggle out forex worth Rs 1.27 crore, officials said on Friday.

The accused were arrested when they were to depart for Bangkok on Thursday, they said.

Family members of an 11-year-old boy who drowned to death in a pit in a Vidhyadhar Nagar Sector-7 park on Wednesday blamed the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) for his death. accusing the civic body of negligence.

Mohammad Faizan , a resident of B-block of sector 8 in Vidhyadhar Nagar in Jaipur allegedly died after he fell into the pit dug up to build a badminton court in Shiv Park, sector – 7, more than half-a-kilometre away from his house.

6. Man Who Robbed Bikes in Delhi, Sold Them in Grey Held

The Delhi Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a 24-year-old man who allegedly stole motorcycles and sold them in grey market to earn money, which he needed to buy a costly diamond ring for his girlfriend.

A button-activated knife and three stolen bikes and scooter were recovered from him. Three vehicle theft cases registered in Paschim Vihar, Prasad Nagar and Rohini North police stations were solved with his arrest, the police said. The arrested man was identified by his single name, Chinku.

7. Indian Family Allegedly Racially Abused on Train in Ireland

An Indian family on a vacation to Ireland has been allegedly racially abused in an hour-long tirade against their “accents, skin colour and nationality” by a beer-gulping man on a train to Dublin, according to a media report.

Prasun Bhattachrjee, on a three-day visit to Ireland, with his family were on a train from Belfast to Dublin when they were racially abused by another passenger, the Irish Times reported.

A 20-year-old BTech student created havoc in Ibrahipatnam mandal by driving rashly in a drunken condition on Thursday.

P Vineet, who was driving a Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza car, rammed into a IX student first, then a 60-year old pedestrian and then went on two motorbikes parked on the side of the road in Raipole village.
