1. Jharkhand Again: A Man Is Lynched, Two Injured Over Suspicion of Cow Slaughter

One man was killed and two others injured in Khunti district of Jharkhand on Sunday, 22 September, after they were assaulted by a mob that accused them of “slaughtering” a cow. Police said the men were attacked around 10 am in Jaltanda Suari village, when villagers spotted them allegedly carving out meat from an animal carcass.

“The three villagers, identified as Kalantus Barla, Philip Horo and Faagu Kacchap, are alleged to have been carving an animal prohibited for slaughtering. Other villagers spotted them and started beating them. However, police reached the spot as we got information and rushed them to hospital. Barla sustained grievous injuries and he died before reaching hospital.  The other two are said to be stable,” said DIG (Chhotanagpur Range) Homkar Amol Venukant.

2. Delhi: Man Kills Wife, Chops up Body and Dumps It in Septic Tank

A 33-year-old man allegedly stabbed his wife to death, chopped her body and dumped the pieces in a septic tank at their house in Rohini on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, he surrendered at Prem Nagar police station. Police said the accused allegedly killed his wife as he suspected she was having an affair.

“Around 9 am, the man, Ashu Pal, came to the police station and told officers that he had killed his wife, Seema (30), and chopped the body. He took his wife to their old house which was being renovated and killed her there. A forensic team was sent to the spot… We are trying to recover the body parts. Further investigation is on,” said DCP (Rohini) S D Mishra.

Police said the man later told them he had dumped a few body parts in a drain near the house.

3. Mumbai: Three Arrested for Gang Rape of 7-Year-Old Girl

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped in Kalyan by three men. The men were arrested and the girl is presently hospitalised, police said.

According to police, the three accused are all residents of Kalyan.

“The girl went missing, following which her family found her in an injured state near their house. The girl’s mother lodged the complaint against the three men and we have arrested them,” a senior officer said.

Police said the girl was undergoing treatment and is being monitored by doctors.

4. Ahmedabad: Three Siblings Die After Luxury Bus Collides With Motorcycle

Three siblings died after their motorcycle collided with a luxury bus in Palanpur of Banaskantha on Sunday, 22 September.

According to police, the incident occurred around 8am near Lakhani village in Palanpur when the speeding motorcycle collided head-on with the tourist bus.

The deceased siblings are Mukesh Prajapati (20), Ramesh Prajapati (18) and Jigar Prajapati (16) from Lalpur village in Palanpur.

5. Two Held With 50,000 Intoxicating Capsules in Gurdaspur

Gurdaspur narcotics cell has recovered 50,000 intoxicating capsules and 700 tablets from two youth during a naka on Geeta Bhavan Road near Jhulna Mahal on Saturday, 21 September.

Deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Kulwinder Kumar on Sunday said that the accused, who were riding a motorcycle, tried to flee when they saw narcotics cell cops, however the officers nabbed them.

The DSP said that a plastic bag was recovered from him which was carrying intoxicants.

He said that the arrested youth, both in their early twenties, were identified as Saurav Kumar, resident of Galli Bath Wali in Gurdaspur, and Navdeep Singh resident of Shekhupur village under sadar police station, Gurdaspur.

6. Terror Module Busted, 4 Men Arrested With 5 AK-47s, Pistols, Ammo in Punjab

Punjab Police on Sunday busted a Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) terror module, which was conspiring to unleash a series of terror strikes in Punjab and adjoining states, by arresting four people and seizing five AK-47 rifles, pistols, satellite phones and hand grenades. This is the biggest seizure of arms and ammunition in Punjab in a decade, Punjab DGP Dinkar Gupta said.

Taking cognisance of the seriousness of the matter, chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh has decided to hand over the investigations to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to ensure that the entire conspiracy, which has cross-border links, is unraveled expeditiously.

Those arrested have been identified as Balwant Singh alias Baba alias Nihang; Akashdeep Singh alias Akash Randhawa; Harbhajan Singh and Balbir Singh. The arrests were made from Chola Sahib village in Tarn Taran on Sunday.

7. Mumbai Man Stabs Ex-Boss for Firing Him, Not Paying His Salary

The Pant Nagar police on Sunday arrested Ganesh Pawar for stabbing his former employer, who fired him and allegedly did not pay his one-month salary, to death.

Police said Mayank Mandot, 28, was the owner of a tutorial. “Around 6.30pm, Pawar entered his office and after an argument with Mandot, stabbed him on his neck and killed him,” a police officer said.

He said Pawar joined the tutorial on February 20 and was fired on September 18. Pawar alleged he was not paid his one-month salary, which angered him and he killed Mandot.

8. Dalit Man in Rajasthan Killed for Allegedly Stealing Water Pump: Police

A 40-year-old Dalit man was beaten to death for allegedly stealing a water pump in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district, police said on Sunday, 22 September.

The incident took place in Ghatoli area on Saturday morning, when a 60-year-old man, his two sons, and some other unidentified people thrashed Dhulichand Meena of Mewakheda village, alleging that he stole a water pump from their fields, a police official said.

When Dhulichand Meena was on his way to a nearby village, Purilal Tanwar, his sons, Devi Singh, 23 and Mohan, 20 and the other men confronted him, police said.

9. Two Cops Taken Off Gang Rape Probe For ‘Misbehaving With Complainant’

Two policemen have been taken off from the investigation of a gangrape case of a girl in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district and sent to police line over allegations that they misbehaved with the complainant, an official said on Sunday, 22 September.

The 16-year-old was allegedly gangraped on Saturday at a village under Sarai Akil police station limits and the accused also recorded a video of the act, police officer Pradeep Gupta said.

He said the villagers accused the police of "misbehaving with the aggrieved side", following which Sub-Inspector Deepak Gupta and Head Constable Ramnath Yadav were sent to police lines.

The role of another policeman, police officer Manish Pandey, is being probed by the circle officer of Manjhanpur, the officer said.
