Asia’s largest Tulip garden situated on the banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar opened for public viewing today, just days after Jammu and Kashmir faced incessant rainfall that wrecked havoc.

Over ten lakh tulips have been planted in the garden, spread over an area of 15 hectares.

According to officials three lakh fresh bulbs were imported from Holland this season.

The opening of the garden, in the foothills of Zabarwan Range, marks the beginning of the annual tourist season in theKashmir Valley.
