Indian Coast Guard Dornier aircraft CG-791, which was reported missing on June 9, may have been spotted by INS Sandhyak.

The naval ship has reportedly traced a beacon signal from the missing Dornier.

The aircraft, which was on a regular patrol sortie, had three crew members on-board, and was one of the new aircrafts acquired by the Indian Coast Guard.

The Indian Navy and Coast Guard had deployed several aircrafts, ships and a submarine in the search and rescue mission of the Dornier and its crew members.

The aircraft had taken off from Chennai Airport at 5:30 PM, and was expected to arrive in Pondicherry by 10:30 PM.

The aircraft was in touch with airport authorities in Tiruchirappalli and was last located about 16 nautical miles off the coast of Chidambaram, somewhere between Cuddalore and Karaikal.
