Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said that the man allegedly responsible for the hooch tragedy in Mumbai must be hanged.
He was responding to news that the main accused was arrested.
The incident has claimed 102 lives so far.
“I want to see most severe punishment for the culprits (behind the hooch tragedy). They should be hanged,” an official of Chief Minister Office’s quoted Fadnavis as saying at a meeting of senior police officials.
The Chief Minister asked the authorities to build a water-tight case in the spurious liquor case, the worst such tragedy in the financial capital, the CMO official said.
The charge sheet should be strong with tough sections (under relevant laws) invoked against the accused. Public Prosecutor should demand severest possible punishment for the accused.
