Pakistan on Thursday claimed that the International Court of Justice had rejected India’s request for six months to file a plea on the Kulbhushan Jadhav case, stating that the last date for India’s plea submission is 13 September, reported Times of India.
Meanwhile, Pakistan will have time till 13 December to file their plea, once India’s plea is submitted, the ICJ said.
Pakistan’s Attorney General Ashtar Ausaf Ali told reporters in Islamabad on Thursday that he had been notified of this development by the ICJ’s registrar through its consulate in Netherlands.
India had reportedly made this request when delegations from both the countries had met the ICJ President on 8 June to discuss the timeline of the case. At the meeting, when India made the request, Pakistan had opposed it.
The court is reported to begin proceedings in the case in January 2018.
