AMU, Allahabad University Identified ‘Non-Performers’ by HRD 

These universities have been accused of under-performing and UGC has been tasked with tracking their progress.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Allahabad University have been identified as "non-performers" by the HRD Ministry.

The ministry, however, has asked UGC to further inspect the identified universities to track their performance.

Other defaulter universities identified by the Ministry officials include Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Dr Hari Singh Gour University, Tripura University and Mahatma Gandhi Antarashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya.

Atleast 11 universities have been identified as under performers including AMU, Allahabad University, Pondicherry University, Central University of Jammu, Jharkhand and Rajasthan and BR Ambedkar University, Lucknow

"There are more such universities which have not been performing upto the mark and process to identify them is on.

UGC has been asked to strictly monitor their performance," he said.
