One woman and three persons were injured during a celebratory firing led by Hindu Mahasabha leader Sadhvi Deva Thakur while a wedding in Karnal in Haryana on Tuesday. Sadhvi and her private guards fired without looking who was in front of them.
Sadhvi has claimed that she was being framed and that she was unwell, according to NDTV report.
The deceased, a 40-year-old woman, was a relative of the groom. She passed away when Sadhvi and the guards opened fire while the ring ceremony.
The Hindu Mahasabha and her accomplice were booked by the police for murder and other sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act.
Empty cartridges were found by the police at the ring ceremony spot.
Incidentally, Karnal is Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s assembly constituency. He heads the BJP government in the state.
