The government of Haryana has ordered private schools across the state to shut its nursery, lower kindergarten (LKG) and upper kindergarten (UKG) classes, reported news agency ANI.
Rohtak’s Elementary Education officer explains that this order has been issued keeping in mind, the mental health of the child. The officer believes that children should be admitted in school only after five years of age.
According to the officer,children below five years of age can either go to an ananganwadi or a play school, where they learn while playing.
However, the association of private schools has asked for this same order to be implemented in government schools as well. The District President of the association has asked for the government to recall the order, reported ANI.
