When India’s discus thrower Krishna Poonia noticed that three bullies were harrasing two teenage girls, while waiting in a car at a railway crossing in Rajasthan’s Churu district on new year’s day, the Olympian jumped out of her car and ran to save the victims.
As the miscreants saw Poonia running towards them, the bullies got on a bike and tried to flee the scene. But the Commonwealth Games gold medallist was too quick, she chased them for 50 metres and hauled one of the bullies off the bike.
After she caught the miscreant, the 34-year-old called the police and handed the bully over to them.
The athlete went to the police station with the girls, who are sisters, and registered a case against the miscreants.
