A week after Sajid Siddiqui filed a complaint against the mob attack at his home on 21 March, a cross-FIR has been filed against Siddiqui’s family.
The FIR filed under Gurugram’s Bhondsi police station is under Section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means). The complainant in the case is Rajkumar.
“After being treated, he heard that the situation had blown out of proportion in the village and there was a mob attack. On hearing all this, he preferred to leave the hospital without telling anyone,” Boken said.
Sajid’s brother Dilshad had filed an FIR in the case on the day of the incident, 21 March. A video of at least 25 men vandalising Siddiqui’s and attacking his family went viral.
While The Quint was on the ground, Rajkumar’s fellow villagers kept saying how Rajkumar had indeed fled for a few days. “He was hurt badly. Poor thing, he must have been scared and fled,” Roop Chand who runs a kirana shop in the village said.
No arrests have been made in the case yet.
