The Central Bureau of Investigation, on 17 March, summoned three Gurugram police officers who were investigating the murder of Pradhyuman Thakur in a private school in Gurugram in September 2017, reported The Times of India. Three officials — sub inspector Shamsher Singh, ASI Subhash of Bhondsi police station and Jyoti, Scientific Assistant, Office of Gurugram Police Commissioner — were directed to appear before the CBI at 11 am on 17 March.
The Class 2 student of the Ryan International School was found with his throat slit in the campus bathroom on 8 September 2017.
These three officers were a part of the Special investigation team (SIT) that had probed the murder case and had arrested the school bus conductor Ashok Kumar for the crime. Later, a Class 11 student of the same school was apprehended by the CBI and Ashok Kumar was acquitted of all charges.
According to a report in The Times of India, the CBI will file the supplementary chargesheet next month. The investigation agency is expected to name the cops as accused if their involvement is found in the alleged lapses in the case.
The CBI has not taken any action against the cops who were a part of the initial investigation. But “the three cops have been called to probe the line of initial investigation that had led to arrest of the bus conductor as the key accused,” as per the The Times of India report.
