Bus passes, tour packages and thirty other facilities will be delivered to Delhiites at the doorsteps from 1 February under the state government’s flagship scheme, reported Hindustan Times.

This is the second phase of the scheme, with a total of over 70 government services provided through the initiative. Residents can avail the services after payment of a fee on the Delhi Transport Corporation website. The applicants will have to bear Rs 33 as printing and postal charges besides the price of passes.

Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot told NDTV that bus passes for the general category can be applied online and they will be delivered in five working days. Concessional passes for senior citizens and students will also be included in the next phase of online services, he added.

Under the Delhi government’s flagship scheme, all ration card-related issues, payment of motor vehicle tax and the facility to add a new category of vehicle to a driving licence will be available.

Ways to integrate the online bus pass system with the common mobility card will also be explored, the minister said.

In order to facilitate smooth functioning and implementation, a coordinator will be stationed at all magistrate offices and road transport offices, according to the HT report.

The 30 new services will involve 10 departments, ranging from labour, SC/ST welfare department, tourism, higher education and transport.

The flagship scheme was launched by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on 10 September last year. Gahlot, who heads the administrative reforms department that is responsible for implementing the scheme, reviewed it on Wednesday, 16 January.
