Security agencies in the capital are on a hunt for seven armed men in the garb of Armymen, believed to be from Gurdaspur in Punjab, who are ready to carry out a terror attack on Delhi Metro ahead of Republic Day, as reported by DNA.
The alert was generated by the National Technical Research Organisation (NTRO), which is based on technical surveillance.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has tightened security by frisking and profiling passengers, leading to long-winding queues at busy stations during rush hour.
Intelligence is generated ahead of Republic Day by various agencies, but most of it isn’t specific.
The meeting was held to check the preparedness of the forces, and four companies along with the CISF have been deployed for security. Quick Response Teams stationed at metro stations have been increased and all possibilities of attacks have been thought of and the response to them.
