Former Rajasthan HC judge Mahesh Chandra Sharma made national headlines for his infamous theories on the peacock sex, defended his statements and said that it was based on “religious evidence”.
In an interview to Hindustan Times, he said:
Earlier on Thursday, during a hearing, Sharma suggested that the cow be made India’s national animal justifying with “religious evidence” that “ 33 crore Gods and Goddesses reside inside the cow… cow is the only living being which intakes oxygen and emits oxygen.”
He further clarified that his statement isn’t political but backed by constitutional laws.
In an interview to ABP News given after the court hearing, he said:
Then, he went onto making comparisons between pious cows and peacock, in an interview with CNN News 18, and said peacocks are celibates, and that peahens get impregnated with peacocks’ tears.
