Bahujan Samaj Party President Mayawati on Thursday, 25 April, accused the Election Commission of ignoring the alleged violation of the Model Code of Conduct by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and slammed the poll body for letting him “move freely.”
In a tweet, the BSP supremo said that the Election Commission’s ignorance has led the prime minister to cross limits as far as respecting women is concerned. “Hasn't the BJP/RSS imposed a lajawab neta (outstanding leader) upon the country?” Mayawati quipped.
In another tweet, the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister hit out at the BJP for repeatedly questioning the opposition’s lack of a clear prime ministerial candidate. “‘Who after Nehru’ was the arrogant question asked earlier too. But people gave a befitting reply to all this nonsense and will surely give another one shortly,” she said.
