Eggs Thrown at Jay Panda as BJD Infighting Escalates

Panda was reportedly attacked with eggs because he did not invite a fellow party member for an inauguration.

Eggs were thrown at BJD MP Baijayant Jay Panda at an event in Kendrapara district in Odisha. According to reports, Panda was attacked by alleged supporters of BJD MLA Pratap Jena over his failure to invite the latter to the inauguration of a water tank. A plaque bearing his name was also vandalised.

However, Panda refuted the allegations. He told ANI:

Allegations are false and the plaque which was broken had names of local MLA and officials. I have always ensured they are invited.

Panda also tweeted photos, claiming that the rival faction had defaced the site of the event on 28 May.
