Almost a week after a Delhi University student lodged an FIR against a man who allegedly touched her inappropriately and masturbated in a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus, the Delhi Police announced a reward for any person who gives any information about the accused.
Last week, the girl had shared her ordeal with the media.
“I did not realise what was going on, I just thought the seat was moving. I made a video at that time to make sure what the guy was doing,” she told reporters.
“I raised an alarm, but no one responded,” the student alleged, adding that the other passengers in the bus did nothing to help. “I yelled at the man but no one said anything,” she said, adding that the man disembarked at IIT-Gate.
The student told ANI that the incident occurred on 7 February when she was on her way back from college. She approached Delhi’s Vasant Vihar police to lodge an FIR on 10 February.
Soon after, Chief of Delhi Commission for women, Swati Maliwal, tweeted that she had spoken to the SHO in this regard.
