Dr Kalam Was an Average Scientist, says Pakistan’s Dr AQ Khan

Known as the father of Pakistan’s nuclear program, Dr AQ Khan has attacked Dr Kalam’s competency as a scientist.

• India developed their missile program with Russia: Dr AQ Khan.
• I can’t recall any path breaking discovery or invention in his field: Dr AQ Khan.
• He was only made President of India, because the BJP wanted to lure Muslim voters: Dr AQ Khan.

‘Disgraced’ Pakistani scientist AQ Khan, who is also considered the father of nuclear science in the country has made a vicious attack on recently deceased former Indian President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

Not only has he called Dr Kalam a moderate scientist, he has also declared his appointment as President of India in 2002 ‘undeserving’.

Dr Khan told BBC that he couldn’t recall any major contribution that had been made by Dr Kalam in the fields of satellite technology, missile technology or astro-physics.

India’s missile programme was developed with the help of Russia and Dr Kalam didn’t make a big difference in developing the missiles.

Khan didn’t stop there, however. Broaching the subject of Kalam’s appointment as President, the Pakistani scientist alleged that Kalam was made the ‘Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces’ only because he was Muslim and the Bharatiya Janata Party wanted to lure Muslim voters.
