The Supreme Court on Friday took the final call on whether commuters up and down the Delhi-Noida Direct (DND) flyway will have to bear a toll or not. And it ruled against the toll.
In doing so, the apex court refused to stay the Allahabad High Court verdict that had earlier decided to make the flyway toll-free. In its judgement, the HC had ruled that collecting tolls on the DND flyway was “illegal”.
The SC requested the Comptroller and Auditor General to file a report within four weeks on the amount invested and spent in the construction of the DND flyway.
