According to officials, two days after his appointment, Centre’s interlocutor on Jammu and Kashmir Dineshwar Sharma on Thursday met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
The meeting took place at Kashmir House on Prithviraj Road.
The Centre had recently notified the appointment of Dineshwar Sharma as its interlocutors for Jammu and Kashmir.
However, Union Minister Jitendra Singh asserted on Thursday itself that Dineshwar Sharma was not just an “interlocutor” but a “special representative” to carry out sustained dialogue in the Valley.

Singh said that the the situation in Kashmir had witnessed tremendous change and the appointment of Sharma did not mean an end of security operations.
Singh also said the dialogue process was already in progress in the Valley as the home minister had met hundreds of delegations during his multiple visits to the state.
