On Thursday, an 80-year-old farmer died in a bank in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh following an argument over the withdrawal limit.
Baladeen hailed from Saragpura village, seven kilometres away from the Allahabad Bank him and his son visited for four consecutive days. His son, Rajesh Kumar said:
When Baladeen argued with the bank employees, having reached the counter after hours of waiting, they told him to withdraw the remaining amount the following week. Soon after, he complained of chest pains and collapsed within the bank premises.
Baladeen’s death angered people within the bank who began sloganeering and demanding the arrest of bank employees. Police had to be called in to disperse the crowd.
