Karan Chowdhary, a student from Delhi is being praised for thwarting an attack by a miscreant who pointed a gun at him at a petrol pump in Delhi’s Shahdara.

The incident happened at around 6 am on Sunday, 30 December. Chowdhary told ANI that he had stopped his bike to fill petrol on his way to the institute.

When he moved a few steps ahead of the pump, he was attacked by a miscreant. The man pointed a gun at him and demanded his bike keys.

The CCTV footage from the petrol pump shows that the incident happened at 6:30 am on 30 December.

“He asked me to give him my bike keys but I refused. I stepped down from my bike and ran away from the spot to seek help from people at the petrol pump; they all refused to help and went away from there and locked themselves in a room,” he told ANI.

Chowdhary then fought the man alone and snatched the gun from him for self defence. He told ANI that there were around three to four people. Two of them them were waiting for the attacker on the other side of the road, Chowdhary said.
