Over 41 lakh commuters travelled by Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses in the national capital on the fourth day of implementation of the odd-even car rationing scheme.
The DTC helpline number received around 1,200 calls of which 1,124 were queries regarding availability of buses, while the remaining were suggestions and complaints, said the official.
There were 25 calls offering suggestions, 57 were complaints, of which 40 were against autorickshaws. Nine were against buses and one was against the Gramin Sewa service.
Delhi Transport minister Gopal Rai said that the department was running a total of 7,143 buses including DTC, cluster service and additional buses procured from private bus operators and schools. The transport department will no longer ask schools for more buses. The 7,143 buses being run presently will continue running till 15 January, he added.
