Despite Traffic & Waterlogging, Delhi-NCR Rejoices in the Rain

The people of the city were not about to squander this opportunity to enjoy the rains.

Heavy rains lashed the Delhi-NCR region on Friday, 13 July, giving much-needed respite from the heat to residents of the national capital. Waterlogging and heavy traffic were reported in several areas.

The rains that lasted for over an hour caused some problems for commuters at Zakhira Flyover Kamal T-Point, Anand Parbat, Y-Point Old Railway bridge Kishan Ganj, Azad Market and near Old Iron Bridge Dharmpura.

There was heavy waterlogging at under Tilak Bridge, Modi Mill Flyover, Dhaula Kuan flyover and near Welcome Metro station. However, the people of the city were in no mood to squander the opportunity to enjoy the rains.

Delhiites took to Twitter and other social media platforms to share their memories.

Some of the Twitter users also used the platform to draw the administration's attention to the problems citizens face every time it rains considerably. Several people shared photos and videos of the city’s abysmal drainage systems.
