Times Now’s Newshour is usually a debate we dread to watch. But its initiative ‘The National Debate’ between Judiciary and Legislature was a sovereign, dignified exchange of ideas and defences.

While Judiciary was represented by former Chief Justice of India RM Lodha aptly supported by senior lawyer Dr. Rajeev Dhavan, Legislature was represented by Union Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs, Information & Broadcasting Arun Jaitley. Veteran journalists Dilip Padgaonkar and Swapan Dasgupta were the moderators.

There was an undeniably simmering tension with neither party desisting from clashing swords with each other. Sparks flew but there was a semblance of understanding and rationality to the debate. Follow some of the tweets below posted by a reporter of The Quint.
