Accused Shoes, Sheena’s Jewellery Found: Rakesh Maria
Mumbai police chief Rakesh Maria said Sanjeev Khanna led them to the spot in Kolkata where the accused shoes was kept. Along with that parts of jewellery worn by Sheena was also recovered. Maria says the financial angle is being probed thoroughly. He ended the media interaction saying that Peter Mukerjea still being grilled. (Reports ANI)

Indrani, Peter Exited Five Companies On Same Day Suddenly
Indrani and Peter Mukerjea exited five companies suddenly in 2011. Times Now reports that the couple founded these companies with the same address in Kolkata but never really recruited anybody. Two Kolkata-based businessmen bought these loss making companies who might be known to Sanjeev Khanna, Indrani’s former partner.

FSL Director Confirms Sheena Was Murdered
Mr BB Daundkar, Director, Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL) in Mumbai spoke to The Quint. He said:
- It is clear that Sheena Bora was murdered and her body parts were found at the crime scene.
- The FSL is inspecting a few more exhibits received from the crime scene.
- The forensic report doesn’t confirm whether the body was burnt or not. It’s a matter of investigation.
- FSL says that Mikhail Bora’s blood sample has NOT yet been matched with Indrani’s blood sample. Forensics are still working on it.
Mumbai Police Top Brass Suspected Sheena Murder Three Months Ago
The Quint Exclusive: A handful of the Mumbai Police top brass suspected as early as three months ago that foul play was involved in the disappearance of Sheena Bora.
Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria forming a small team of investigators that laid the groundwork for the arrest of Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the murder of her daughter.
Mumbai police sources confirmed that transfer of Inspector Dinesh Kadam and Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kadam from the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) to Khar police station was Mumbai police commissioner Rakesh Maria’s move to set up a core team for the investigation. First to be arrested was Indrani Mukerjea’s driver Shyam Rai.
He was nabbed after the police received a tip-off against Shyam Rai, about an “unlicensed, foreign-made” pistol in his possession. There are suggestions that this pistol may have been planted on Rai, to facilitate his arrest under a serious charge, that would allow the police to question him for a few days.
The second tip-off about Sheena’s disappearance, The Quint has reason to believe, came from Sheena’s school days friend from Meerut.
The information gathered from Shyam Rai after his arrest on 21 August and the information provided in the 2nd tip-off, it is believed, led to the arrests of Indrani Mukerjea and Sanjeev Khanna.
Indrani Mukerjea is taken to Byculla jail in Mumbai.
He will be produced tomorrow (Tuesday), we will proceed accordingly.

DNA Samples Found From Raigad Match Indrani’s
DNA samples from the dead body, suspected to be Sheena Bora’s, found in Raigad, match Indrani Mukerjea’s blood samples, say the Mumbai police, according to a report on CNN-IBN.
Indrani, Driver Sent to Judicial Custody For 14 Days
Indrani Mukerjea and driver Shyam Rai, sent to 14 days of judicial custody by a court in Bandra, Mumbai.
Sanjeev Khanna, one of the three accused, is being taken to Kolkata for further investigation. He was not produced in the court today.
Peter Mukerjea is brought to Khar police station.
Police team has reached Raigad, where Sheena Bora’s body was recovered in 2012.

The Mumbai police has learnt that 8 of the 10 codes from DNA extracted from Sheena’s skeletal remains and Indrani’s blood samples have matched. (The Indian Express)

Investigators claim that an ‘important’ email sent by Indrani on March 8, 2012, weeks before the murder (April 24, 2012) supposedly to her former husband Sanjeev Khanna, had led them to believe the murder was planned. (Hindustan Times)
Investigators said the email before the murder was sent from Indrani’s account. The two sent after the murder were from a fake ID she created using Sheena’s name. The emails sent from Sheena’s fake account originated from the UK, where Indrani and her husband Peter were living. (Hindustan Times)
According to Peter Mukerjea’s statement, he had confronted Indrani about Sheena’s disappearance after his son Rahul told him she was missing and was last picked up by her mother for dinner. This led to fights between them, he said. However, Peter also said that things normalised after he and his stepchildren Vidhie and Mikhail began receiving emails from Sheena. (Hindustan Times)
