The family of the 30-year-old woman, who was found shot dead in Loni on Tuesday, 27 November, has lodged an FIR for murder and raised suspicion on her husband. Police officials said that they have picked up the man for questioning and investigating the case.
The incident took place around 6 pm near Behta Hajipur when the deceased, Kavita, was travelling on a bike with her husband to Aligarh from her parents’ house at Sangam Vihar in Loni. Her family says that they received a call from her husband Rinku alias Gyanesh Kumar that some altercation had broken out.

Six years after a Dalit man was burnt alive over an alleged affair, a special court in Una town of Gir Somnath district on Thursday, 29 November, convicted 11 men from Koli community of murder, criminal conspiracy and committing atrocity, and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
The court of additional sessions Judge SL Thakker specified that the life imprisonment in the case means imprisonment till death.
Lalji Sarvaiya, a 27-year-old Dalit man of Ankolali village in Una taluka, was killed on 13 September 2012 after the accused set his house on fire and locked it from outside.

A gang is active in Tricity. Their modus operandi is simple: they tell car riders that fuel is leaking from their vehicles and as the drivers come out, they take away valuables from the car. Two such cases were reported in Panchkula and Chandigarh in the last three days. Police said initial investigation reveals the gang comprises four members and they are using a stolen motorcycle.
On Wednesday, 28 November, a Panchkula businessman, Yashu Gupta, and his friend were targeted by two motorcyclists, who threw peeper spray into their eyes and ran away with a bag containing Rs 1 lakh and other documents near Sector 6. Yashu Gupta, who was in his Innova, reported to the police that he was signalled by two motorcycle riders about the leakage of fuel from his Innova and as he stopped his vehicle, the pillion rider sprayed the pepper spray in his eyes.

Surat police on Wednesday, 28 November, arrested a Congress worker for allegedly posting “abusive comments” about Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a local Facebook page. He was released on bail on Thursday, 29 November.
According to police, Congress worker Parth Anavadiya, a resident of Navsari, put out an abusive post about Modi on a Facebook page called ‘Navsari Active Politics’, a few days ago. Ananvadiya’s mobile phone number is his user ID on the page.

Two persons, including a head constable posted in Chandigarh Police, were killed in separate road accidents which happened in the district in the past 24 hours. Police registered cases in both the incidents.
The first incident was reported from Lalru when a tractor-trailer hit a bike near Singhpura village on Wednesday, 28 November, night. The victim was identified as Gurwinder Singh. He was posted as a head constable in Chandigarh Police. Gurwinder Singh was coming to his native village Rani Majra from his duty but when he reached near Singhpura village, the tractor-trailer hit the bike.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a case on Thursday, 29 November, against a Karol Bagh based company – tviexpress.com and its promoters Tarun Trikha, Varun Trikha and others for allegedly cheating investors of Rs 10,000 crore by promising double returns on their investments in a year.
The agency filed an FIR on the direction of the Supreme Court which in 2014 had asked it to investigate cases related to chit fund companies.
Apart from the company, the company functionaries named include, Tarun Trikha, Varun Trikha, Veena Trikha, Sikha Trikha, Shakti Sharad, Anoop Kumar and Kabita Ganguly.

A body of a 31-year-old man was found with his throat slit on Wednesday, 28 November, evening in Mahim beach. The Mahim Police have registered a case of murder against an unknown person and are on the lookout for the accused. The victim has been identified as Afsar Khan (31), a resident of Navi Mumbai.
According to the police, a man was spotted by a few locals in a pool of blood behind the tetrapods around 6:00 pm on Wednesday, exactly behind Hinduja hospital. The locals then informed the police, who arrived on the spot and rushed the victim to a nearby hospital. Khan was declared dead on arrival. The police then searched him and found his mobile phone, using which they traced his family members and informed them.

A sessions court on Monday, 26 November, sentenced a 50-year-old former Air Force Guard to life imprisonment for the double murder of two of his colleges and injuring three others.
Sessions judge DE Kothalikar sentenced Rohitsav Yadav to life imprisonment until his natural death for the murders. The court seems to have mainly relied on forensic evidence and statements of three eye witnesses of the 19 witnesses examined.

Even as 38-year-old Delhi woman remains in police custody in connection with the murder of Ekta Bhati, questions are being raised against Bhati’s husband, Brijesh, with murmurs that his murky past may be a key factor in his wife’s murder.
Born in Delhi, Brijesh (42) grew up at RK Puram in the cantonment area — his father is an army man — and studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya 2. He and Ekta, who was from Faridabad, had an arranged marriage in 1999.
Their twins, a son and daughter, were born in July 2010.
