A 14-year-old girl from Dankaur area of Greater Noida has alleged that on Monday, 27 August morning, she was gang-raped by two men in a moving car being driven by another one of their accomplices. The girl was sent for a medical test, the police said.
According to the police, the victim, a class 9 student of a government school, has alleged that the incident took place while she was on her way to relieve herself around 7am on Monday.
“The girl said three men, who are residents of a nearby village, abducted her in a Maruti car. According to her, one of the accused drove the car while the other two raped her,” Farmood Ali Pundir, station house officer, Dankaur police station, said.

A Delhi University student turned a robber to fund the parties he used to throw for his friends at his house in southeast Delhi’s Tughlaqabad village.
The accused, Vishal (24), used to buy liquor with the money acquired from the sale of stolen items. Vishal’s latest target was a photographer. On Saturday, 25 August, Vishal was strolling at Tughlaqabad Fort with one of his friends when he saw a man with a DSLR camera clicking pictures of two budding models. Vishal assaulted the man and snatched his camera. His run, however, ended as cops arrested him when he was trying to flee the city.

A contract employee of the Corporation on Monday, 27 August murdered his wife at their house in T.P. Chathram and fled after informing the police. Police said Srinivasan, 30, and his wife Ammu, 26, lived at New Colony, T.P.Chathram, a few yards away from his parents’ house. The couple have a seven-year-old boy.
He was suspicious about his wife's behaviour and harassed her. They used to quarrel frequently. In the morning, he beat her and cut her head with a knife.

A woman hanged herself at her house in Kolkata’s Howrah district on Sunday, 26 August, after her in-laws allegedly refused to let her go to her parents’ home to celebrate rakhi, police said. The incident took place in Chamrail area of Liluah, Kolkata. The deceased has been identified as Suparna Jana.
“The victim was found dead at her in-laws’ house. Her husband, identified as Arun Jana, has been arrested under the charge of abetment to suicide,” said a police officer. No suicide note was found, the officer added.

A 19-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a 30-year-old woman security guard in the lavatory of a ladies’ washroom at a mall on Sohna Road on the night of Sunday, 26 August, police said.
According to the police, the woman, who works as a security guard at a multiplex in the mall, had gone to the ladies room on the same floor at 10.45 pm. In the FIR registered on Sunday, the complainant said that when she entered a cubicle in the washroom, she heard a sound from an adjacent cubicle.
She said she initially assumed it was another woman. “I assumed it was a woman in the cubicle. When I peeked from the gap below, I did not see anyone in the adjacent cubicle. When I was about to leave, I noticed a man standing on top of the toilet seat behind me,” she wrote in the complaint.

In the third such incident within a week in Dwarka, four puppies were found lying unconscious in a housing society. Two of them died, while two others are critical.
On 20 August, bodies of 7 puppies were found in Dwarka's Kargil Apartments. Two days later, three dogs were found dead in Akshardham society. On Monday, 27 August, four more puppies were found unconscious in the same society.

The Ghaziabad police have lodged a first information report (FIR) against two officials of the GD Goenka Public School, Raj Nagar Extension, for the wrongful confinement of two girl students of class 6 and class 12 on 20 August.
The police said its inquiry, prima facie, found that the two students faced harassment.
Vaibhav Krishna, senior superintendent of police, said an inquiry was ordered after the mother of the two girls forwarded a complaint to the Sihani Gate police station.
“We found that the girls faced harassment and the issue was related to the payment of fees. We have lodged an FIR against the principal and the administration in-charge of the school. An investigation is under way,” the SSP said.

A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped from northeast Delhi's Harsh Vihar and gang raped by four men for over a week in Noida. Cops have arrested two men in connection with the crime.
According to the police, the minor had accompanied his brother to a shop near their home on 15 August. There, two bike-borne men allegedly snuffed some intoxicants in a napkin and gagged her. After the girl passed out, the accused pushed her brother to the ground and kidnapped the minor.

A taxi driver from the aggregator service Ola allegedly watched a pornographic clip on his cellphone and harassed a 22-year-old woman passenger on Saturday, 25 August morning.
The woman later told the police that the driver, identified as Devasamoliya and currently absconding, held the phone in such a manner that she could see it, and kept touching himself.
She also alleged that despite raising a complaint with the aggregator immediately after the incident, no action was taken until she lodged a police complaint.
