Meanwhile, Delhi has crossed 1 lakh mark as the national capital recorded 1,379 news cases on Monday. Total cases in Delhi stood at 1,00,823 and deaths at 3,115.
Earlier on Monday, data by by the Johns Hopkins University showed that India has become the third worst-affected country globally, overtaking Russia, which has reported 6,80,283 cases.

Monuments in and around Agra, including the Taj Mahal, are not reopening on Monday, 6 July, in view of the COVID-19 outbreak. "In the interest of the public, it has been decided that opening monuments in Agra will not be advisable as of now," said a notice issued by the district authorities on Sunday, 5 July, reported Reuters.

The total number of samples tested up to 5 July stands at 99,69,662, of which 1,80,596 samples were tested on Sunday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said on Monday.

"Out of 25,000 active patients, 15,000 are being treated at home. Death rate has also come down. We've also started the country's first corona plasma bank. Our trials have shown that plasma therapy can help moderate patients improve significantly," he was quoted by ANI as saying in his press briefing.
