The US has recorded 1,813 coronavirus deaths in 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 84,059, AFP reported on Wednesday, citing the Johns Hopkins University tally.
Eight labourers were killed and as many as 50 injured after the truck they were travelling in collided with a bus in Madhya Pradesh's Guna in the wee hours of Thursday, ANI reported.

In the last 24 hours, 3,722 new COVID-19 cases and 134 deaths have been recorded.
The Indian Railways said on Thursday that all tickets booked for regular passenger trains for travel on or before 30 June have been cancelled, but 'shramik' and special trains will continue to ply.
Passengers with tickets of regular trains which have been cancelled till June 30 will get a full refund, the Railways said.

Speaking on the fourth phase of lockdown, which will come after 17 May, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Thursday, "The chief minister had sought suggestions from the public and we got around 5 lakh suggestions (on lockdown and relaxations). A policy is being formulated and you will get to know about it in 2-3 days. Whatever opens will be opened keeping in mind social distancing."
As many as 2.34 lakh passengers have booked tickets for special trains for travel over the next seven days, with revenue amounting to Rs 45.30 crore generated, the railways said on Thursday, reported PTI.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday briefed the media about the suggestions his government has received regarding lockdown relaxations, saying that most people have suggested that schools, colleges, spas, swimming pools and malls should not be opened.
He pointed out that most market associations have called for the opening of markets on an odd-even basis.
"Most people suggested strict action against those not wearing masks and violating social-distancing norms... We want to send our proposal by evening to the Centre on lockdown relaxations post 17 May... Different activities will be allowed in Delhi from Monday based on Centre's decision on lockdown relaxations," he was quoted by PTI as saying.
As many as 472 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Delhi in 24 hours, making it the biggest single-day jump. The tally in the national capital has risen to 8,470, while the death toll stands at 115.
Meanwhile, 187 more people have recovered, taking the total recoveries in Delhi to 3,045.
Seven people test COVID-19 positive in Goa, which was earlier declared green zone as there was no active case since 1 May, reports PTI.

President Ram Nath Kovind, after contributing one month’s salary to the PM-CARES Fund in March, has decided to forego 30% of his salary for a year, reports ANI.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is announcing the second tranche of the centre's Rs 20 lakh crore fiscal package on Thursday, and the focus is on the migrant issue, street vendors, small traders, the self-employed and small farmers.
“Free food grain supply to all migrants for the next two months, for those who are non-card holders, they shall be given 5 Kgs per person of wheat/rice and 1 kg of chana,”she said, adding that the total number of migrants is touted to be eight crores. This will be done through the state authorities.
She further continued, “One nation, one ration card will be implemented, we assure national portability of these cards by March 2021.”
“Government to extend the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) for middle income group up to March 2021; 2.5 lakh middle income families to benefit during 2020-21,” the FM added. She stated that this will help the “lower strung of the middle class earning 6-18 lakhs annually.”
In Madhya Pradesh, migrant workers create ruckus near Madhya Pradesh-Maharashtra border in Barwani, demanding arrangement of buses to send them to their native places in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Barwani District Collector Amit Tomar said, “We're arranging buses for them.”

Shops selling essential items will reopen in Ahmedabad from tomorrow between 8 am and 3 pm, a week after the outlets were shut to curb COVID-19 spread, reports PTI.
