Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting, through video conference, with state Chief Ministers on Monday, 11 May, at 3 pm to discuss the prevailing COVID-19 situation in the country.
The number of COVID-19 cases in the country, on Sunday neared the 63,000-mark with 3,277 new cases and 127 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has decided to rush Central teams to 10 covid-19 hit states, which are witnessing high case load and spurt in numbers.
The states include Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
"The teams will assist the state health departments in facilitating the management of the Covid-19 outbreak," said a ministry statement.
The teams will comprise a senior Health Ministry official, a Joint Secretary level nodal officer and a public health expert. The teams will support the state health departments in the implementation of containment measures in the affected areas, districts and cities.
The number of COVID-19 cases in India neared the 63,000-mark with 3,277 new cases and 127 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to data provided by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Total cases in the country now at stand 62,939, including 41,472 active cases, 19,358 cured/discharged/migrated and 2,109 deaths.
Centre has issued guidelines for restarting industries after lockdown in wake of Visakhapatnam tragedy, PTI reported quoting officials. The guidelines issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) says, “First week of operations by industries post lockdown should be considered as trial or test run after ensuring all safety protocols.”
It further said, “Companies should not try to achieve high production targets in 1st week of operations after lockdown.”

Delhi reported 381 new cases of coronavirus and 5 fatalities, taking the total tally to 6,923, Health Ministry data said on Sunday, 10 May.
Addressing a press conference, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said, “In Delhi, 75 per cent COVID-19 cases are asymptomatic or with mild symptoms.”
He added, “We have made arrangements for treatment of those at their homes with mild COVID-19 symptoms.”
Rajiv Gauba, Cabinet Secretary, on Sunday, held a video conference with Chief Secretaries and Health Secretaries of all States and Union Territories. At the outset, Cabinet Secretary noted the cooperation of states on the return of Indians from abroad under Vande Bharat Mission.
He also noted that more than 350 'shramik special trains' have been run by railways carrying 3.5 lakh migrant workers. He requested state governments to cooperate with railways in the running of more 'shramik special trains'.

Twenty four people from Kerala had received e pass and were traveling to Bengaluru. The tourist bus rammed into a water lorry in the Salem-Karur highway and a few were injured.

Eighteen new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Border Security Force (BSF) today — 16 from Tripura and 2 are from Delhi. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the force stands at 276, according to ANI.
“Lockdown compounding woes of poor, Prime Minister Narendrs Modi must intervene to prevent starvation, hunger deaths,” Congress leader AK Antony told PTI.
Anthony added, “Ground situation very difficult; without government intervention, deaths due to hunger, starvation will 'outnumber' COVID-19 casualties.”
He further continued, “Economy came to a halt due to lockdown; if timely steps not taken to resume businesses, there will be total economic crisis.”
“Seven new COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in Kerala today, taking the total active cases in the state to 20. Four people recovered today; 489 people have recovered so far,” Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja, reported ANI.
“Additional Station House Officer of Shalimar Bagh Police Station has tested positive for COVID-19. 7Sevenpolice personnel of the police station have been quarantined,” said Vijayanta Arya, DCP North West Delhi, reported ANI.
"Twenty-six new COVID-19 positive cases, two deaths reported in Mumbai's Dharavi today. Till now, 859 positive cases and 29 deaths have been reported. Two-hundred and twenty-two people discharged till date,” said Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), ANI reported.

“One hundred and fifty-three new COVID-19 cases reported in the state today, taking the total number of positive cases in the state to 1,939,” the West Bengal Health Department stated, reported ANI.
“Three more deaths including a 13-month-old child reported in Pune today, taking the death toll due to COVID-19 to 151 in the district,” said Pune Health Department, ANI reported.
“In the last 24 hours, 398 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Gujarat. The total number of cases stands at 8,195 now, including 2,545 cured/discharged cases and 493 deaths,” the Gujarat Health Department stated, ANI reported.
